Experiencing the Power of Picture Books
Description
Using the Bates College Picture Book Collection, students explore and experience questions at the heart of real-world conversations and controversies surrounding children's literature. Guided by social science research, students interested in working with and transforming the lives of young readers deepen their understanding of theory and how to bring it into practice through community-engaged work. Prerequisite(s): one 200-level education or psychology course. Recommended background: EDUC 231 or PSYC 240.
