Chinese Language (C044)

A concentration in the study of Chinese language.
Complete any four credits designated with the (C044) GEC attribute. Students entering Bates with proficiency in the language should begin the sequence of four credits of the concentration at the level at which they are initially placed. No more than two language courses taken in an approved study-abroad program in China may be counted toward the concentration with prior approval. Not open to students who declare a major or minor in Chinese, a major in Asian Studies with the Chinese track, or the Chinese Society and Culture (C047).
