German Language and Culture (C071)

This concentration expands students’ knowledge of the German language and the culture of German-speaking countries.
Concentration Requirements
Complete any four courses in German Studies (GER).
Courses Taken Outside of Bates
One course from the Bates Fall Semester Abroad in Germany may count toward the concentration. Non-Bates courses may not be applied toward the concentration.
Declaration Restrictions
Students who declare the German Language and Culture C071 concentration may not declare the following:
- German major
- German minor
